AWARD: Discovery 3zero is Lite-Magazin’s ‘Best Pick’

LEARN MORE: DISCOVERY 3ZERO We are thrilled to announce that the Discovery 3zero has been honoured with the ‘Best Picks’ Award 2024 by lite magazine.
The Discovery 3zero loudspeaker with a Phantom Belladonna finish graced the front cover of German hifi journal, Audio Test which was circulating at the Munich HIGH END at the end of May. Within the review Patrice Lipeb touches upon different examples of the integrated design and manufacturing philosophy here at Wilson Benesch. He draws examples not only within how the companies manufacturing is setup, but also in terms of the construction of the Discovery 3zero, the drive unit design of the loudspeaker and also the crossover design. “The futuristic overall design resembles a compact loudspeaker mounted on a custom stand. But this superficial view hardly does justice to the iconic construction of the Wilson Benesch Discovery 3zero. The stand, constructed from aluminium and steel, is an integrated part of the whole loudspeaker, it serves to stiffen and help control resonant energy in the speakers. To extend this concept of integration across the design, the drive units are designed to function as a single point source. Accordingly the drivers are all placed very close to one another, with the tweeter directly below the mid drive.”
