UK-Royal Opening by the Duke of York of Sheffield’s A.M.R.C.

The Duke of York officially opening the multi-million pound Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.

The A.M.R.C. is located on the Advanced Manufacturing Park, Sheffield. It is a collaborative venture between Sheffield University, Rolls Royce and Boeing Aerospace. Its remit is very broad but includes working with local high technology companies to spearhead developments in new material technologies and create new methods of manufacturing them.

“Wilson Benesch is proud to be a Partner of the AMRC. Entering the Factory of the Future really is like moving forward in time, seeing things that you would not believe possible. As a Partner we can also access other facilities on the Advanced Manufacturing Park like CAMTeC for example. CAMTeC is the research, design, manufacturing and technology transfer centre for composites developed for general manufacturing and aerospace applications.

As a Partner we can now access the most advanced intellectual and material resources to be found anywhere in the world. For a company that works hard to deliver innovative solutions this is a major opportunity.

Over the last twenty years our innovative products have changed expectations of sound reproduction. This collaboration will help us maintain this enviable track record. We are proud to be seen playing our part in maintaining both the great British Audio industry and the – Made in Sheffield – marque that still stands as a mark of quality throughout the world”.
