Joe Cocker Redferns Image of the Month.
The griity rock/blues singer from Sheffield first started singing at the age of 15 with the band, the Avengers (under the stage name Vance Arnold), then Big Blues (1963), and then The Grease Band (1966). He did a number of covers of Beatles songs but it wasn’t until the Beatles song from Sgt peppers “With a Little Help from My Friends,” that he earned global recognition.
Cocker performed the opening set at Woodstock ’94 as one of the few alumni who played at the original Woodstock Festival in 1969, and was very well received.
He continues to tour sporadically.
Currently lives on the Mad Dog Ranch in Crawford, Colorado, with his wife, Pam.
