OVERVIEW

PRECISION SERIES.
ENGINEERED FOR YOU.

As the flagship of the Precision Series, the P3.0 embodied the pinnacle of this range. Its design paired a dedicated Tactic 2.0 midrange drive unit with two Tactic 2.0 bass drive units — one upper bass and one low bass — to deliver deep, authoritative low frequencies with complete control.

With the addition of the Leonardo Tweeter at its acoustic centre, the P3.0 balanced power with refinement, capable of rendering exquisite detail and the most delicate emotional nuances. The result was a loudspeaker that offered an immersive, involving, and truly exciting listening experience.

Now part of our Heritage collection, the P3.0 stands as a landmark of the Precision Series — the statement model that pushed performance to its highest expression.

DESIGN

TACTIC 2.0 DRIVE UNIT

Wilson Benesch created the first iteration of its dynamic drive unit in 2002. Since then the Tactic Drive unit has evolved through three generations to arrive in its current form. Wilson Benesch was the first company in the world to develop a consumer product that used Isotactic Polypropylene. It’s unique balance of high specific stiffness with exceptional damping afford the opportunity to create a reductive minimal crossover design.

LEONARDO TWEETER

The Leonardo Tweeter marked a significant stage in Wilson Benesch’s development of high-frequency transducer technology. Emerging through an iterative design process that also produced the Fibonacci and Semisphere Tweeters, it showcased our dedication to continual refinement and innovation.

Like the Fibonacci Tweeter found in the reference loudspeaker Eminence, the Leonardo Tweeter employed a geometrically optimised and decoupled polymer–carbon fibre faceplate. Manufactured entirely in-house with state-of-the-art 3D printing, this proprietary waveguide delivered exceptional dispersion and phase characteristics.

Though succeeded by later advancements, the Leonardo Tweeter remains a distinguished milestone within our Heritage collection, embodying the pursuit of precision engineering and acoustic excellence.

HYBRIDISED ENCLOSURE

At the heart of the Precision Series was a design philosophy built on hybridised material structures. By combining multiple materials within the enclosure, Wilson Benesch sought to control structurally-borne resonant energy and reduce the Q-factor of the loudspeaker cabinet to the lowest possible level.

The distinctive top and bottom caps of the Precision Series were not merely elegant design features but critical engineering components. Precision CNC-machined from solid aluminium billets, they locked the front and rear baffles to the wooden side panels. Along the vertical axis, 13mm steel tie-bars compressed and braced the entire structure, while tubular elements along the horizontal axis increased stiffness and introduced additional damping.

Though now part of our Heritage collection, the Precision Series enclosure remains a striking example of engineering-led design — a purposeful solution to the timeless challenge of resonance control in loudspeakers.

DIRECT MIDRANGE AMPLIFIER COUPLING

The unique balance of high specific stiffness and exceptional damping within the Isotactic Polypropylene diaphragm enabled Wilson Benesch to pioneer reductive crossover design. By exercising complete control over every element of the drive unit and, critically, the enclosure itself, the diaphragm allowed for natural electro-acoustic roll-off, minimising the need for complex crossover networks.

This elegant approach was first realised in the reference Eminence loudspeaker and carried through into the P2.0 and P3.0, where the midrange drive unit was directly coupled to the amplifier with no crossover components in the signal path.

Natural, effortless, and open – this design philosophy helped define the globally recognised Wilson Benesch sound and remains a cornerstone in the company’s Heritage of innovation.

CRITICAL ACCLAIM

The P3.0 from Wilson Benesch simply sounds different than standard speakers, let's just say "outstanding" and add an exclamation point to that.
"The Wilson Benesch P3.0 marks a great moment for me, it is a loudspeaker that has been thought through to the end, from the housing to the chassis. Thanks to numerous color and design options, the P3.0 can either be integrated into living areas or set the optically striking counterpoint. A dream loudspeaker like the P3.0 has its purchase price, but the sonic potential of this British pillar definitely extends to the highest regions. Naming this series Precision was the best Christina and Craig Milnes could do."

It is no longer the sound projected by two speakers, it is the music itself that expresses itself. This sensation of spatial ease, of freedom, is particularly exhilarating for the listener.
"But this is not the only strong point of the Wilson Benesch who are also striking in their ability to convey the energy and the lagato of each score. In this sense they offer a shimmering and clear sound reproduction. The sound of each score. They reproduce the impacts with an exciting spontaneity and firmness. The low register is particularly eloquent. Its readability and structure are quite exemplary."
