Set in the luxurious surrounds of the Bristol Palace on Rue du Faubourg St Honore, amidst the art house district of Paris. The Wilson Benesch Chimera was driven effortlessly by Goldmund electronics. The setup included the new Drive Goldmund Metis 30, the digital preamplifier Mimesis 16 and two monoblock Telos 350 power amplifiers. The listening experience was quite wonderful, one customer commented, “What could you say about the listening results? Everybody agreed, there is only one question: do you have the money or not… if you do, you buy this setup!”.

This year Wilson Benesch performed a live demonstration of the Geometry Series, Vector Floorstander and running alongside was the latest NEW product from Wilson Benesch, the Square Three Floorstanding Loudspeaker, taken from the all new Square Series 2.

So here a little glimpse of the time and energy we pour into our exhibition space and with a soundtrack sample from one of our preferred demonstration pieces from the weekend in the Wilson Benesch Conservatory, aka, ‘The WB Glass House’. Hans Zimmer’s excellent and evocative piece, aptly titled, ‘Time’.

Wilson Benesch is globally recognised as the pioneer of advanced carbon fibre audio components. Stereosound Japan noted ten years ago that it was Wilson Benesch that first recognised the importance of the now ubiquitous sloping top geometry on the top of loudspeaker enclosures. It is this capability that has won the company not one but three substantial grants that records £870,000 of research and development expenditure over the last eight years. It has also led to several studies by television programs and researchers looking to see how we do, what we do. The Discovery Channel recently covered the company on its ‘How Is It Made’ Program.

The demonstration will consist of a 2-channel setup, with the new Geometry Series Vector supported by the Torus Infrasonic Generator. Amplification will be provided by Chord Electronics in the form of the SPM5000 and CPA5000 preamp amplifier.

A second smaller system will consist of the Wilson Benesch Square Two’s using the same electronics.

The ‘How It’s Made’ series is a long running production. The program presents the steps involved in the entire process of manufacturing. Wilson Benesch are delighted to be able to share with our audience the processes involved in manufacturing the Full Circle including the tonearm.

The film will present the entire process from the raw stock to finished components, their assembly and the Full Circle playing one of Michael Hobson’s (Classic Records) beautiful recordings.

Headed by the much esteemed John Costanzo, guests can expect a presentation of various musical styles on a variety of products, that will include from the Wilson Benesch range, the ACT Loudspeaker, the Arc Loudspeaker and also the Full Circle vinyl source.

Finnish distributors Sound Gallery will be presenting the Wilson Benesch range at the prestigious HiFiExpo in Helsinki. The exhibition will provide an opportunity to hear the new Geometry Series Vertex loudspeaker in combination with the Torus Infrasonic Generator for the first time in Finland. There will also be alternating demonstrations with the Wide Bandwidth Series Trinity loudspeaker. All systems will be supported by Pathos electronics.

For the first time after the merger of Audio Excellence and art’s audio, the Dutch distributor for Wilson Benesch, art’s Excellence, present at the X-Fi High-End audio show in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

They have chosen to show and demonstrate the new Wilson Benesch Geometry loudspeaker series combined with the reference electronics from Audio Research.

As the Dutch distributor for Wilson Benesch they will demonstrate the floor-standing Vector for the first time at a Dutch hi-fi show. One of the major advances these loudspeaker series make is the tweeter developed by Wilson Benesch. It can be characterized as: fast, accurate, refined and amazingly transparent. The direct-drive woofer system adds power and clarity to the lower end. In combination with reference components from Audio Research this results in a highly musical and convincing system.

It’s been a very busy fortnight for the team here at Wilson Benesch. Having taken delivery on a new Hurco VM30 CNC machine for our growing machine suite, we then attended the very enjoyable National Audio Show with some good friends and shortly after welcomed our Chinese distribution Richcoln Ltd to Sheffield for a 2-day tour.

Our attendance at this years National Audio Show was the second in succession and like last year was in collaboration with Ken Ishiwata of Marantz U.K. Tim Jordan of Jordan Acoustics and Darren Smith of Clearer Audio cables. The show provided the second opportunity for Wilson Benesch to demonstrate the new Geometry Series, with a live demonstration of the Vector Loudspeaker.

The feedback on the products and opportunity to meet our customers and fans is always invaluable and this year was no exception. We would like to thank all those who attended and also extend our gratitude to Tim Jordan of Jordan Acoustics, Ken Ishiwata of Marantz U.K. and Darren Smith of Clearer Audio. See you next year!

Last week Wilson Benesch welcomed our Chinese distributors Richcoln Ltd. to Sheffield for a tour of the Wilson Benesch headquarters. CEO Thomas Yu was joined by his assistants Michael Chan and Johnny Au, plus two dealers Mr X.H. Wang and Mr G.Y. Jiang. We are extremely grateful to Adrian Allen O.B.E. who took time out of his busy schedule to personally co-ordinate the tour for our group. Commercial Director and a key protagonist behind the concept of the A.M.P. Advanced Manufacturing Park Adrian Allen O.B.E. has worked tirelessly to attract the funding and put in place the foundations of a park that is growing at an alarming pace in order to keep up with demand.

The two day tour included the Wilson Benesch headquarters, but also afforded us the opportunity to show some of the collaborative research projects Wilson Benesch is undertaking with the Advanced Manufacturing & Research Center and Advanced Composites Research on the A.M.P.

We are also extremely grateful to James Hunt of Sheffield University for providing a fascinating insight into advanced highly optimised components produced in titanium that the company is developing.
