Bristol Show February 2007 – Square Two, Official Launch

Bristol Show February 2007 – Square Two, Official Launch
SOUND AND VISION. February 23rd 25th 2007

Join us in the Conservatory to see what other loudspeaker company’s will be doing next!
There are many design features that Wilson Benesch has created that have eventually been adopted by other loudspeaker companies. You will not find any Advanced Composite Technology cabinets even today, but there are a few straight carbon fibre arm tubes. Nothing as well engineered or as beautiful as the A.C.T. tonearm, that is now more than 14 years old!

Some companies make great efforts to show the carbon fibre diaphragms that are made by another company and should only be used in large woofer designs. A small benefit compared to the significant impact of a full carbon fibre monocoque used by Wilson Benesch. The sloping top, the metal baffle, etc, etc. Some companies have even elected to adopt the names that we have created like Act! So once again, we expect to see a lot of the industry at this years Conservatory, because we have done something radicaly different with the classic Square design. Importantly, this means more than simply adding Wilson Benesch State of the Art drivers.

The Bristol Conservatory will witness the first exhibition from Wilson Benesch comprised of Square enclosures. Visit this year, and you will be presented with a range of elegant solutions, that endorse Wilson Benesch, as simply the most innovative design company.

Why hasn’t anyone done it before? We hear you ask.
Much of the background work for the Square, came out of the SMART feasibility study into the Torus during 2003 – 5. By going back to square one, it was possible to visualise how to work with soft materials (wood). To our knowledge, in the history of wooden enclosures, no one has ever looked at loudspeaker design from this perspective. By looking at the problem differently, thinking outside the box, we have shown once again that you can bring new design solutions to commonly accepted problems.

You don’t need eyes to see, you need vision (maxi jazz, faithless).
